And now a pic for the slightly rougher edged Ocean Defenders... A demonstration of the technique called "Tonic Immobility" a technique which puts sharks in a natural state of paralysis. It is induced by massaging their snouts in a specific spot close to their eyes. This demonstrates that sharks are not simply mindless killers and man-eaters but are intelligent and sensitive creatures which are also extremely threatened by human exploitation for their fins and jaws. DO NOT TRY THIS YOURSELF!
*Edit apparently there is some misinformation going around as to the source of this photo. And the diver pictured is actually in fact Christina Zenato, a friend of Ocean Defender. Apologies to Christina but I was not aware and was simply following the credit of Discovery and the UK based website it is featured on when you google the name Sharkman or Tonic Immobility.
