Reuters - Viacom Inc's Comedy Central is withdrawing its popular comedy shows "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report" from online video service Hulu, a Hulu executive said on Tuesday.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences banned Hurt Locker producer Nicholas Chartier from attending Sunday's ceremony because he violated Academy campaigning standards with an e-mail urging voters to support his film over Avatar, the Academy announced Tuesday.

Jay Leno returned to the Tonight Show the same way he left it: At No. 1 in the ratings.

The Tonight Show scored 6.6 million viewers to handily defeat The Late Show, which earned 3.8 million viewers for Leno's longtime rival, David Letterman. Leno's ratings were up 45 percent over Conan O'Brien's average Tonight Show numbers, but were a whopping 58 percent lower than O'Brien's ratings on his first night on the job, back in June.
