New York walkies: Kristen Stewart takes Bear, the rescue dog she shares with boyfriend Robert Pattinson, out for a walk in New York's East Village


Being the pet of a famous movie star may have its perks, but being left behind while your owner travels the world isn't one of them.

Luckily for Robert Pattinson's dog Bear his owner's girlfriend Kristen Stewart is happy to take over walking duties when he isn't there.

With Pattinson was in London promoting Water For Elephants, Kirsten took the reigns as Bear's carer.

Dressed in skinny jeans, Converse trainers and a grey T-shirt, Kristen, 21, and her canine companion braved the wind and rain as they made their way across New York's East Village.

Clutching his blue lead, Kristen was careful to keep a tight hold on Bear as they set out across the city together.

Pattinson found Bear in an animal shelter while shooting Breaking Dawn in the Baton Rouge area of Louisiana.

The dog was originally called Yogi Bear, but Pattinson and Kristen decided to shorten his name to Bear after Rob admitted he thought Yogi was 'a bit much.'

Kristen, and her canine companion, have been staying at one of the actress's favourite New York hotels, The Bowery, on the Lower East Side of the city.

Meanwhile, the Twilight actress is set to welcome a new man into her life after it was announced today that British actor, Sam Claflin, has been cast alongside her in Snow White and the Huntsman.

The 24-year-old actor will play Prince Charmant to Kristen's Snow White.

Kristen Stewart stars in Snow White

After a few weeks amid speculation over who would get the role to play Snow White in a forthcoming film, co producer and screenwriter of the film, Palak Patel, confirmed that Kristen Stewart will be the actress who plays the role of the beautiful princess.

Kristen Stewart said Patel was from the beginning the first option they had in mind. through your twitter said negociones are final.

Other actresses who were heavily rumored to play Snow White was Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester, Nicole Anderson and Miranda Cosgrove. Kristen Stewart wiped out the other applicants. The film will be released on December 21 next year.

Stewart, Pattinson kiss at pre-Oscars party

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson celebrated the Oscars by sharing a kiss at a pre-Oscar party.

Stewart and Pattinson were two of the many celebrities in attendance at a Friday night party at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, according to Us Weekly.

A witness said: "They definitely kissed a few times."
The witness went on to say that the Twilight couple enjoyed dancing to the music as well.
"They went nuts for 'Empire State of Mind'!" said the witness.
Other stars present included Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Ryan Gosling and Natalie Portman.

I am a dork at heart

Twilight' actress Kristen Stewart, who is considered one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, insists that she is a 'dork'.

The actress – who appears on this month''s cover of American Vogue – spoke about her rise to stardom, her struggle with fame and her new hobbies.

The 20-year-old admits to being a big golf fan and reveals her friends tease her for watching the Food Network with a stern look of concentration on her face.

"I'm such a dork," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

One of her new hobbies is cooking for her close circle of friends.

"You build a perimeter of people that are really important to you," she said.

The actress also spoke about her struggle with the down-side of fame.

"There's no way to eloquently put this. I just can't go to the mall. It bothers me that I can't be outside very often. And also to not ever be just 'some girl' again. Just being some chick at some place, that's gone," she said.

But she accepts that it was her choice of career and so doesn't regret.

"I choose things that are so overly ambitious, and if I can't do stuff like that, I don't want to be doing this," she said.

"A compulsion absolutely fills you," she said of finding a good part, and admits that she sometimes has difficulty letting go.

Stewart is currently filming the final two episodes in the Twilight saga and feels the weight of portraying Bella Swan.

She said of her Bella role "a character who is embedded in so many people's psyches at this point. It's starting to enter my head a lot more than it used to because it's at the end and it's come such a long way. I just want the fans of the book to be happy."

"I don't necessarily care about anyone else," Stewart added
